Who We Are

The Global Leadership Institute at Andrews University is a collaborative leadership development initiative supported by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Our mission is to promote the integrative development of Adventist leaders. For this reason we created LeadLab—a learning laboratory to grow leaders for mission, to support their learning on the journey of being an Adventist leader.

Programs

LeadLab is offered to the world fields of the Seventh-day Adventist church as two programs: (1) LeadLab Intro and (2) the LeadLab Growth Series.

  • LeadLab Intro is a condensed overview of the longer, LeadLab Growth Series. The program is offered to all divisions and attached fields, to provide leaders with key principles of leader growth. It also provides an introduction to high-leverage leadership ideas that can be implemented immediately. Typically, this event consists of about 6-8 hrs of content presentations and group discussions. It can also be spread out over 2-3 days and can be held online or on-site. Please contact us for more details.

  • The LeadLab Growth Series is an interactive growth journey for executive leaders. This program progresses through four dynamic parts: (1) the LeadLab Launch, a 4–5-day experience that creates an intentional learning community that will journey together for 6-8months; (2) the online LeadLab Cohort Sessions and (3) the LeadLab Learning Groups; and (4) the LeadLab Forward, the culminating 4–5-day onsite retreat where participants reflect on their learning and share how they plan to follow God's call in the future. During the LeadLab Growth Series participants explore four aspects of their growth path as leaders: (a) their own identity as a Christian leader; (b) working with others; (c) leading in organizations; and (d) leading multiplication for mission. Each participant is supported by a weekly learning group with a trained learning coach. The LeadLab journey typically takes about 6-12 months. The topics and schedule are selected in consultation with each sponsoring organization and integrated into a wholistic growth journey. Each LeadLab graduate is awarded the LeadLab Certificate.

Powered by GLI

The LeadLab approach was developed by the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) at Andrews University. GLI is a collaborative leadership development initiative housed at Andrews University and supported by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (GC). As part of the GC Leadership Development Program, LeadLab provides a variety of opportunities for growing leaders to learn and apply.

“Christ has said, 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.' That is the work we are to do, and God will help us by letting His light shine through us. We want to be the very best and most intelligent workers that there are anywhere.”
